The Geneva Motor Show is just a few days away now but Volkswagen decided to give us our first look at three new golf variants before the chaos of the show begins.

If you don’t want to burn any fuel, the Touareg R is capable of driving at 140 km/h in fully electric mode for an estimated 43 km.
It will also get the new digital cockpit, a new multifunction sports leather steering wheel with touch control and 32-colour background lighting including GTI-specific mode.
A new batch of spy shots from Sweden has surfaced not only showing that it is the facelifted variant but also appears to show that the production version of the Tiguan R will join the refreshed model lineup.
They did not share anything about the power output of the 2.0-litre TDI but if the leaked image we shared last month is indeed accurate, then it will get a healthy 197 hp (147 kW).
The turbocharged 2.0-litre four-pot is expected to produce 329 hp (245 kW) which as usual will be sent to all four wheels via a slick DSG gearbox.
According to rumours, this is where the Bugatti Veyron was spotted way back before they even went on sale.

Volkswagen used the past weekend’s GP Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria, to roll out the battery-electric Golf eR1 which is strictly a concept for now, but in VW’s own words it is an “ambassador for future performance vehicles.”
Instagram user @cochespias shared the image you see above which seems to be a dealer product roadmap showing five Golf variants ranging from the already released GTE to the highly-anticipated GTI and R.
