If you have some time to spare and are as fascinated with Gordon Murray and his creations as we are, then this video from Top Gear is for you.
Production of this variant starts in January 2023 after the 100 standard units of the T.50 are complete.
The McLaren F1’s spiritual successor will be revealed today via a livestream on the Gordan Murray Automotive YouTube channel.
The 3.9-litre V12, will send its grunt to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission developed by Xtrac.
Powering the new car will be a freshly developed 4-litre V12 from Cosworth. It will produce as much as 690 hp using ram induction and will scream all the way to a 12,100 rpm redline.
The T.50 will have an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 663 HP (494 kW) per tonne – higher than any other naturally-aspirated sports car.
According to the report, prospective customers have reportedly seen the car in person and have described it as a modern-day McLaren F1.
Murray wants this car and all subsequent products born out of his new company to be “engineering works of art.”
Gordon Murray is the creator of the iconic McLaren F1 and yes he is proudly South African.
