We all know that electric cars lack the theatre surrounding big petrol units but after watching this video below, there is no denying that the performance is staggering. With an all-electric motor, ALL of the torque is INSTANTLY available and as the Rimac Concept_One shows here it is possible to get to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds thanks to this. How does it do this? Well there are four magnet electric motors which when combined deliver the equivalent of 1073 hp and 1,600 Nm of torque from zero RPM. Interestingly, the Concept_One then uses four gearboxes, one for each wheel, to send power to the ground via a complex torque vectoring system. We saw the production-spec car in Geneva earlier this year where we found out that the Croatian startup will produce just eight examples.
