Lamborghini Drops Top On Rear-Wheel Drive Huracan Spyder

The Huracan range has been extended as Lamborghini have just unveiled the RWD Spyder variant of their V10 bull. One thing you notice immediately is that it includes a selection of distinct styling elements different from those of the all-wheel drive model.

Power from the 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 engine sits 572 hp (580 PS) compared to 602 hp (610 PS).

The front of the Huracan rear-wheel drive Spyder has been fitted with a bumper identical to that of the rear-wheel Huracan Coupe. As such, it includes horizontal slates in the middle of the large air intakes to give the vehicle some added aggression. At the rear, styling changes include a new bumper and subtle modifications to the grille.

Just like the all-wheel drive Huracan Spyder, the fabric soft-top of the RWD can be opened or closed in just 17 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h. Unlike the standard model however, the rear-wheel drive Spyder has a weight distribution of 40 per cent at the front and 60 per cent at the rear, significantly reducing front axle inertia and potentially reducing understeer.

When it arrives, it will be priced between the two and four wheel drive coupe models.
