We have seen many if not all automakers going smaller or hybrid in an effort to be more economical but Aston Martin CEO seems to have other ideas. “Hybridization has two aspects, like in F1 to pass someone, which is irrelevant on the road, and the other is to be more fuel efficient. But it is very simple; if you drive a little slower you will be much better off”. Instead of going smaller to be more efficient, he wants to go lighter and more aerodynamic! He also noted that Aston have improved their fuel efficiency by 30% over the last 5 years and hence he believes the V12 will still be around in 5 to 10 years. It might not be a massive 6.0-litre but rather a “smaller one”. I think other manufacturers should listen to this chap.
