Magnum has finally given us a full reveal of its new track toy called the MK5. It is an alternative to the KTM X-Box, BAC Mono, Ariel Atom and the new VUHL 05 we saw at Goodwood. Power comes from a mid-mounted 4-cylinder pushing 250 hp and it is sent to the road with the help of a limited-slip differential. The engine will rev all the way to 11 000rpm which allows this new track car to hit 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and go all the way to 240 km/h. With a dry weight of just 545 kg, this means it has a power to weight ratio of 460 bhp/ton. Sitting on 18″ ultra-light alloy wheels and wrapped in high-performance tyres this is one car you would love to take to a track day. You can already order one and the pre-tax price is $139 000 but don’t expect to get them in South Africa as they only plan on making 20 of them per year. I am not phased because I think it is quite hard to look at it is so ugly.
