McLaren has introduced its 911 competitor and it is basically a McLaren 650S given some Ritalin. It uses the same 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 as the 650 but it has been dialed back to 562 horsepower. With this power reduction does not mean it is much slower either because it can still smash to 100 km/h sprint in just 3.2 seconds and go all the way to 200 km/h from stand still in 9.5 seconds. The carbon fibre MonoCell II keeps the weight down and rigidity up and McLaren claim that this is 136 kg’s lighter than a 911 Turbo. Inside the car get’s floating center stack with touchscreen and if this bothers you it has 35 litres more boot space than a 911. I must be honest I didn’t think I would be a big fan of the styling but I have to admit that they have done a great job with this car and it will sell very very well!
