We have seen completely uncovered pics of the new Audi R8 Spyder but thanks to the New York motor show, it has officially been revealed. Here is what you need to know;
- Only 0.1 seconds slower to 100 km/h than the Coupe
- It will go on sale later this year
- Uses added stiffening measures within the A-pillars, windscreen surround and sills to offset its lack of a fixed roof structure.
- It is 50% more rigid and 113kg lighter than the predecessor
- It is wider and shorter than the predecessor (14mm shorter; 36mm wider)
- Fully automatic roof features two tapering buttresses
- Opens and closes in 20 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h
- Powered by same 5.2-litre V10 and sent through the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission
- 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds
- Audi R8 V10 Plus Spyder expected by the end of the year
