1. New Rolls-Royce Cullinan
The British manufacturer of luxury cars Rolls-Royce MotorCars, part of the BMW Group, presented its first SUV. It is named after the largest gemstone found in the world, the diamonds of which adorn the crown and scepter of the British monarchs. The dimensions of the car: length – 5341 mm, width – 2164 mm, height – 1835 mm, wheelbase – 3295 mm.
Sales will begin at the end of 2018 – the beginning of 2019. The car will become the most expensive serial SUV in the world – it is estimated that in the UK its price will start from £250,000 ($340,000). The model will be produced with a four- or five-seater saloon. It will be especially interesting for those who play in Nativecasinos as it is another luxurious item.
In the version with two separate rear seats, the passenger compartment and the luggage compartment are separated by a glass partition, which improves noise insulation and separates the passenger compartment from the external environment when the fifth door is open (in limousines, such a partition separates the passenger compartment from the driver). For the convenience, the car is lowered by 40 mm air suspension when the doors are opened.
There is used the same V12 engine with a volume of 6.75 liters and two turbochargers as in the Phantom VIII, but its capacity is 8 liters more (571 hp.), and torque is 50 N/m less (850 N/m). Four-wheel drive and a fully-controlled chassis (rear axle thruster) are installed – for the first time on Rolls-Royce models.
2. Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury Concept
Daimler concern is considering the release of a new model of the luxury sub-brand Mercedes-Maybach, a kind of hybrid executive sedan and SUV. Its concept was presented in China on the eve of the opening of the Beijing auto show. And this is not surprising since China is the largest Maybach market; over 60% of the 25,000 Maybach sedans sold in the country are sold after the brand has been restarted in 2015.
If the concept gets a continuation, it will become a competitor to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga and the promising Ferrari crossover models. Concept dimensions: length – 5260 mm, width – 2110 mm, height – 1764 mm. That is, it corresponds in length to the Mercedes S-Class with a long base, slightly higher in height than the GLE crossovers, and exceeds the width of the Maybach 57/62 and Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII.
3. Anniversary version of the Porsche 911
The company began celebrating the 70th anniversary of its sports cars and prepared a new car from the Speedster series, which was suspended in 2010, on this occasion. It is stated that the Porsche 911 Speedster show car is a conceptual study that gives an idea of the potential production version. The conclusion on it will be made in the coming months, but the launch on the conveyor, if it takes place, then not before 2019.
The lightweight car does not have a radio, an air conditioner, and a roof — instead of a folding top, a light awning is used (it is installed only in the parking lot). 21-inch wheels are attached to the hubs of the central nut, as on serious sports cars.
