Prior to the Monterey Car Week, Ford have revealed a limited-edition 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition to pay homage to their 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans win.
As one would expect, it comes sporting a Race Red paint job with contrasting white stripes and as standard you get the exposed carbon fibre package. The ‘Number 1’ graphics on the hood and doors are painted in Frozen White to further distinguish it from the regular GT. You also get 20-inch one-piece forged aluminium wheels, red brake calipers and sleek silver wing mirror caps.
The Heritage Edition will only be available on 2018 GT’s and along with the exterior touches, you also get some small interior changes. This includes carbon fibre seats with red stitching, red seatbelt webbing and anodized gray paddle shifters. Along with this you will get an identification plaque and some matte carbon fibre door sills.
“The first Heritage edition car was a huge success, honoring our history with a modern interpretation of the Le Mans winner. Continuing with a 2018 Ford GT based on the winning GT40 Mark IV race car was simply something we needed to do.” said Garen Nicoghosian [exterior design manager].
