When I heard Gumpert was going out of business I could not help but feel a little sad that we would never see the mental machines produced again but that is certainly not the case. Gumpert filed for bankruptcy in 2013 and then went into liquidation after the backer that was supposed to bring them back to life backed out. In January of this year, Gumpert was acquired by Team Venture, who also happens to own De Tomaso. With this purchase they renamed the company Apollo Automobil GmbH. The most important part of this story? They will be building what they claim will be the “fastest road car on the planet” and it will be called the Apollo N. We know they will be bringing a new car to Geneva so I am assuming this will be it and I will be seeing it with my very own eyes!
The picture you see above was posted on their Facebook page with the caption: #Today we are still building the #fastest road car on the #planet, we are and we will always be a force in the restive advance of performance, and for us as #engineers, this is reason enough. Here we present to you#ApolloN. #ApolloN will mark the first milestone of #apolloautomobil#staytuned for the #newchapter
