Oettinger recently turned their attention to the already potent VW Golf R and the result is the mental R500. The exterior of the car is extremely dramatic so one would hope that under the hood there are some numbers to match this. Well you would be right as a 2.5-litre TFSI engine was given a new turbocharger, forged piston, and an optimized ECU. That wasn’t enough to reach the 518 HP target, so engineers threw a new air intake, a redesigned cooling system, and a sports exhaust into the mix. They managed to hit their target with the power figure and get 680 Nm of torque. This car will be able to hit 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds but if this car ever goes into production, you can expect a price tag to match these numbers. Think about R800-900k for a hotted up Golf R!
