The Lamborghini SUV known as the Urus has been rumored to be cancelled then green-lighted and then cancelled again but it is now very much official that the car will be produced by the Italian manufacturer at their Sant’Agata Bolognese factory. It will go on sale in 2018 with the VW Group expecting around 3000 SUV’s sold annually which will double the company’s current sales performance. It will target “Lamborghini super sports car customers who to date have driven SUV models from other brands, as well as families and customers new to the Lamborghini marque”, and that the USA, China, the Middle East, United Kingdom, Germany and Russia will be its main markets. The Lamborghini SUV will ride on a modified version of the platform that sits under the Audi Q7 and the Bentley Bentayga and it could use both V8 and V10 engines. I really hope it looks like the concept car we have seen!
