Harald Wester, Maserati boss, has finally shed some light about the next generation GranTurismo. The car is scheduled to arrive towards the end of 2017 and you can say bye bye to the GranCabrio as there isn’t a market large enough to justify the production. The new GT will be a “fully focused driver’s car” which will offer “serious V8 power, not to mention a cascade of low-end torque.” The car will be exclusively rear-wheel drive and based on an earlier report, will feature a twin-turbo V8 pushing at least 550 horsepower. If you want a drop-top Maserati, do not stress as the 2016 Alfieri is very likely to spawn a convertible. Look forward to seeing what comes from these Italians in the future!
