Who would have thought that a 1991 Ferrari would fetch a decent $742 500 at Barrett-Jackson even after being involved in a serious accident. All hope seemed lost for this Ferrari F40 back in 2011 when the mechanic in charge of service took it for a joyride and wrecked it. Lucky for the talented bunch of Gas Monkey Garage, this car has been given a 2nd life and a very good one at that. They didn’t simply fix the chassis and bodywork they rebuilt it “better, straighter, lighter and faster”. Rebuilt turbo’s, tubi exhaust, aluminium flywheel, custom racing shocks, HRE three-piece alloys a new Kevlar clutch pack. The 2.9-litre twin-turbo V8 now delivers a potent 550 hp which is a considerable jump over the original 471 hp. Reggie Jackson is the new lucky owner and for those who have no idea who that is, Google him.
