Audi seems to have backtracked their earlier decision to cancel production of the e-tron as they are not going ahead with a small-scale production. The zero-emission two-seater is one of the changes the new head, Ulrich Hackenberg, has made since his arrival and I think it is a great call. Previously the car would only be able to reach about 215km with a charge but recent advancements with lithium-ion batteries now show that the electric supercar could do a very healthy 400km. Two electric motors have a combined output of 376 hp which should be able to accelerate the car from standstill to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. This R8 will go into limited production during second half of next year.
