Here we get to see the last addition to the Golf Mk6 family. The Golf R Cabriolet. It packs the same 266bhp engine as the hard top but is now only a front-wheel drive car. 0 to 100km/h in a very respectful 6.4seconds. The AWD has been scrapped because the cabriolet’s stiffening struts would have obstructed the rear driveshafts. Don’t expect this thing to be cheap because indicative pricing is saying it will be R100k more than the normal Golf R which takes its total to R560 000 (this is ludicrous). Having said this, I do not see it selling well at all especially considering we already have the Golf Mk 7 on the roads.
